3,000 head under the hammer in two days of sales

Although there was no prime sale this week at the Northern Rivers Livestock Exchange because of Australia Day, Ramsey & Bulmer and T&W McCormack more than made up for it with over 3,000 head going under the hammer on Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s joint store sale saw 2,674 quality head sold to large crowd of buyers.

Steers topped their category at 922.2c/kg and averaged 665.4c/kg and 275kg.

Heifers reached a top of 796.2c/kg and averaged 671.6c/kg and 252kg.

Cows achieved a top return of $2,200 while Cows & Calves reached $2,820.

Following on from a successful sale on Friday, 586 breeder stock were sold on Saturday, January 29.

A good number of bulls sold on the day reached a top price of $6,250.

Cows achieved a top return of $3,875.00 and Cows & Calves reached $4,575. PTIC Heifers saw a top price of $3,900.

George & Fuhrmann will hold their first store sale of the year on Friday,  February 4 with more than 2,200 head expected. Further bookings are welcome.
