55 year old charged with murder after discovery of dead man in Kyogle unit

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a dead man in a unit in Kyogle.

At 10.10am on Tuesday, April 26, emergency services were called to a unit on Curtois St following reports the body of a man was inside.

Officers from Richmond Police District and paramedics rushed to the scene.

The man in his 70s could not be revived. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established and forensically examined.

Detectives investigated the suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and following inquiries, a 55-year-old man was arrested on Summerland Way in Kyogle.

He was taken to Casino Police Station where he was charged with murder.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Ballina Local Court on Friday, April 29.
