You walk into a lobby bar. In the corner, there are vintage suitcases piled high to the ceiling. The lighting is low and moody. Cube-shaped olive green couches face each other so you can easily chat with your friends. You’re all dressed in your going out clothes – as if you’re going to a wedding.
You can order cocktails in a glass teapot and share it with your friends in front of the log fire.
A DJ spins some tunes from behind the bar as you order some share plates for the table. You laugh with your friends and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of Gloria’s Lobby Bar.
You could be in a big city, or trendy downtown bar but you’re not – you’re in Casino and Gloria’s is the place to be and be seen.
Gloria’s opens at the Commercial Hotel on May 23. If you’re lucky enough to get an invite to the private party on May 22 you get an early peek at Casino’s newest bar.
This is something new at the Commercial Hotel which has already created unique spaces to explore – the sports bar, the Garden, Café Pepe, the gelato bar and Gloria’s.
The dress code on the nights Gloria’s operates – Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm is as if you’re going to a wedding. Forget the jeans. Have a signature cocktail and a share plate or canapes designed for 2–3 people.
You can spend the evening at Gloria’s or after your cocktail go to Pepe’s Restaurant (to be opened soon) or continue on your night out.
This kind of bar – a lobby or foyer bar – is the first of its kind in Casino.
The team at the Commercial likes to surprise and the renovations at the Commercial are full of surprises.
The Grand Opening will take place on Thursday, May 22, by private invitation only.
Invitations have been extended to key tradespeople, local supporters of the Casino, and others who have played a vital role in bringing the revamp to life.
If you’d like to come to the public opening on Friday, May 23 at 6pm call the Commercial on 6662 1007 to register. The opening does not have a dress code and the new Red Steer lager will be available – Casino’s own beer.
