As if she’s there – Marge Graham on stage with country music singers

It was as if country singer Marge Graham was on stage with every performer at the Dungarubba country music afternoon at Broadwater Hall today, Saturday, August 26.

A framed photo of her strumming her guitar was on the wall behind the performers.

Marge was a regular at the Dungarubba country music events before she died at her South Lismore home during the floods last year. She was 82.

Dungarubba Hall committee president Gary Woolley has been running the country music events for 13 years.

Everyone knew Marge, he said.

The music events are held every fourth Saturday of the month, and used to be at Dungarubba Hall until it was damaged in the floods.

Gary is talking to the Lands Department this week to see about fixing the 110 year old hall.

Meantime, the Broadwater Hall had a good turnout with people coming from Tweed Heads, Ballina and Lismore.

Anyone can get up and sing three country songs.

And everyone is welcome to the country music afternoons at Broadwater Hall until Dungarubba Hall is fixed.
