Tony Hennessy has done it again – the Casino writer has published his second book and launches it this Saturday, July 18.
Nanodust will be officially launched at the military museum at the Drill Hall – a fitting setting for a story that delves into how the aftermath of war impacts those who fought.
Tony was inspired by talking to veterans who said they knew the Afghanistan war was one they would not win.
“And by the sheer bastardry of the administration of the army that made the fight impossible,” he said.
Nanodust offers insight through the main character – Harry Jackson – a broken soldier returning from Afghanistan who has a radical plan to change things.
“I hope the readers will get an understanding of what we put our soldiers through and then not approve of them being victimised when they come in,” Tony said.
“We must learn to accept that what happens on the battlefield stays in the battlefield.” 
With Nanodust, the writing came easier.
“Writing Nanodust was technically easier than the first novel as I had great advice from Lazlo in relation to writing style and structure,” Tony said
Laszlo Biro is a fellow writer who has published many books.
“The story line was harder because the science was intense at times and it was important to not make scientific errors,” Tony said.
Tony eases the reader into a dramatic story that asks the ultimate question – Can evil be ethically used to defeat a greater evil?
He is already hard at work on his third novel.
“I try to write every day but stop at least two hours before bed or I find myself too wound up to sleep,” he said.
