Libraries really do offer more than books. At Casino there is a free tampon machine.
Librarian Taryn Kelly tried out the automatic machine that delivers a pink box of tampons for free.
The machine is located in the female toilet and at the press of a button, the tampons are delivered.
Taryn is a Sharing the Dignity volunteer and said the library was the perfect place to have the machine.
“I’m very proud we have the machine available to everyone here,” she said.
Taryn works at Lismore Library now but returned to Casino for the official opening of the machine which is funded by Woolworths.
Sharing the Dignity is a national women’s charity that works to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough.
The charity distributes period products to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates who needs support.
