After ex-cyclone Alfred swept across our shorelines, two boys, Arlo and Reign picked up rubbish from beaches at Evans Head.

The boys’ mother Demi Fraser said they didn’t complain and were happy to help.

Someone at Summerland Bank read the story on indynr.com and decided the boys deserved recognition for their efforts.

Jack Torrance from the Summerland Bank Evans Head branch had the pleasure of meeting the boys and presenting them with gift vouchers and a selection of Summerland promo items.

While he was with the boys, one of them said – “Can we go clean up the beach today?”

As well as a cheque for $200 for each boy, they also received some pencils and reusable straws.

Ms Fraser said Arlo and Reign were excited.

“They were surprised when I told them the bank wanted to gift them something for their clean up efforts,” she said.

“We are super grateful for their generosity. The boys have been thinking a lot about what they’re going to buy but haven’t decided yet.”
