Across the road, at Kyogle Home Living, Simon Tough has already made orders for electrical equipment and white goods such as fridges.
Kyogle Home Living has a large floor space and plenty of storage below the shop, Simon said.
“We will have a range of everything,” he said, promising to rival The Good Guys and Harvey Norman.
Items are arriving every day now that everyone including suppliers are back at work.
Simon is adamant that his store will be able to compete with online prices and goods.
“Check online, check with us – we can beat online prices and offer a personal service.”
When Simon had to deck out his own house, he looked at many shops and online for what he needed.
“Then I bought them from Kyogle,” he said.
“It’s all about keeping Kyogle alive and buzzing.”
Shopping local means the money stays in town. Many of the shops on Summerland Way frequently support sports teams and donate raffle prizes.
