Quick community action alerted police to a theft that led to a stolen car pursuit and three arrests on the weekend.

Three near-teenagers allegedly stole a bag from Main Beach at Evans Head on Saturday afternoon, October 8.

Police praised the Evans Head community for their quick reporting of the stolen bag.

The car keys in the stolen bag were used to steal the car.

Descriptions were circulated and three children were quickly identified.

The pursuit of the stolen car started in Casino.

Three children were eventually arrested in Grafton.

A 12 year old Coraki girl was charged with stealing the car and driving recklessly and furiously.

Two other 12 year olds from Evans Head and Coraki are being dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Richmond Police said it was a “great result of community and police working together”.
