Car rolls down steep embankment and is stopped by trees

Emergency services including Casino VRA Rescue Squad were called to a car crash after reports a person was trapped in a car on the Bruxner Highway at the bottom of Richmond Range at Mummulgum at 8:20pm today, Thursday, May 30.

When crews arrived, they found a car had rolled down a steep embankment and had been stopped by trees.

The car had collided with guard rail and rolled before coming to rest on the embankment.

The driver managed to get out of the car and was assisted by RFS and VRA crews until the arrival of paramedics and police.

The patient was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment.
