Casino racetrack too wet, Beef Week Cup will run at Inverell

For the first time, there will no horse racing during Casino Beef Week. The race track is too wet. Instead, the coveted Beef Week Cup will run at the Inverell track this afternoon, Friday, May 27.

“The track inspection identified surface water in sections of the track along with severely wet areas on the course proper that will not improve in time for racing,” Mr Formaggin said.

Casino Race Club president Mark Formaggin was disappointed but was anticipating the decision of NSW racing stewards not to run the Beef Week race meeting because of the state of the track.

The club is working towards making the Gold Cup Race Day on Saturday, August 6 bigger than ever.

And for those who like to dress up for race day, the Charcoal Inn and the Tatts in Casino will host Fashions on the Field.

More details of events happening in town to come.
