Casino, you are in for a treat. Café Pepe opens at the Commercial Hotel, Casino this Tuesday, January 28 and you will want to see it.
The dining room has been transformed into a plush, sit back and enjoy kind of eatery with velvet covered booths and well spaced chairs and tables. The walls pay homage to Italy with sports memorabilia and other touches.
Importantly, there is a gelato bar serving 24 different flavours of ice cream.
The entrance to the cafe has had a makeover too. Customers are greeted by a sunlit room painted with a deep egg yolk colour.
The menu board features sushi, poke bowls, milkshakes, wraps, desserts and cold drinks and coffee with all the different milk options (the full breakfast menu is coming in a few weeks).
The menu board was made by Gary and Yvonne Smith from Sensational Crafts in Barker Street.
Hotel group general manager Diego Godoy wants to transform the pub experience in Casino and he is making sure the Commercial Hotel offers a unique family experience.
For now, he is focused on opening Café Pepe at 7am–4pm on Tuesday with free coffee all day (one regular coffee per person) to celebrate the opening.
Natsu will be crafting coffee using an exclusive blend, available only at the Commercial Hotel, featuring mixed beans from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Papua New Guinea. This unique combination delivers a sweet, aromatic profile with delightful caramel and nutty overtones.
Takeaway or dine in – the sumptuous dining room with its velvet chairs invites customers to linger a little longer, have that second cup of coffee or enjoy a gelato.
The rest of the hotel is still being renovated including the bars, lobby lounge and garden.
For now, you can enjoy a dining experience unlike anything else in Casino.
