The new play area for children at Crawford Square Park in South Casino will have a playful farm theme to its design.

Already at the park, there is the BMX Club, skatepark, four gym stations, the train play area, climbing area and soon the farm themed play area.

Richmond Valley mayor Robert Mustow said Crawford Square was a destination park.

The concept design for the new area includes a climbing structure and slide for older children, a double bay swing set, rock climbing and a jumper square.

The play area will be built at Casino’s biggest park with State Government funding of $248,936.

“The families and community were asking for more at the park and the new play area will complement what is already there, Mr Mustow said.
