It was not the usual kind of callout the Casino Rescue Squad gets.
At 3:54am this morning, Saturday, May 21, the squad was called to Yorklea to rescue a cat.
The family cat had climbed 15 metres up a tree and was not willing to venture back down.
Because of the time of morning, type of job and weather conditions a decision was made to head out in daylight hours to see what assistance the rescue team vouold offer.
The recue crew headed to Yorklea at 9am but the wet ground, type of tree, the height of the cat and the fact the cat might jump and injure itself a decision was made that a cherry picker would be the better and safest option to rescue the cat.
A call was made to a local tree lopping company Richmond Valley Tree Services who came out and helped get the scaredy-cat down from the tree.
