Christmas leftovers: how to jazz up leftover champagne

Meat and vegetable leftovers

Make a Puff Pastry Log

Place spinach leaves on top of the pastry, leaving a small space on one side.

Then place leftover vegetables and meats. (Add some spice if you didn’t cook with herds the first time).

Roll the pastry up to make a log.  Baste the top with a whipped egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.

Bake in the oven on 180C until the pastry is brown.

Cut the pastry into four for  smaller servings.

Jazz up leftover champagne

Place chopped up strawberries in an a ice cube tray, fill with lemonade and freeze.

When it’s time to bring out the champagne, put the cubes in and you have a different flavour and cooler champagne.
