Beef Week may be two weeks away but Cassino Gallery officially launched a Beef Week exhibition on Saturday, May 10 with an eclectic mix of works.
There are paintings, glassworks and some works in progress as well as some 100 year old paintings found in a house. The exhibition includes posters displaying extracts from books by local authors.
The exhibition runs until June 14.
Helen McKinnon read her poem Silence at the opening.
Gallery committee art director Di Skelly-Heron said the Cassino Gallery is a “no bow-tie kind of gallery.” Entry is by gold coin donation.
The exhibition includes a silent auction of paintings that have been left at the gallery. The committee has put a reserve price on each painting and have a form with all the details at the gallery.
The Northern Rivers Military Museum and Casino Historical Museum have a display as part of the Beef Week exhibition with the theme Secrets of the Museum.
If you’ve never been to the Cassino Gallery in Barker Street (the former RTA building) head there on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, 10am–3pm.
