COVID: 1,219 new cases in Northern Rivers

There were 1,219 new covid cases reported in the Northern Rivers today.

These results came from 878 positive PCR tests and 341 positive rapid antigen tests.

The confirmed PCR results came from the LGAs below. An LGA breakdown is not yet available for RAT results:

There are 40 covid patients in hospital in Northern NSW hospitals, with five of these in ICU.

One person aged in their 50s died from covid. They were from the Byron area.

Across NSW there were 21,030 positive covid test results.
