COVID: 674 new cases in Northern Rivers

There were 674 new covid cases reported in the Northern Rivers today.

The new cases were located in these LGAs:

Kyogle 8

Richmond Valley 42

Clarence Valley 86

Lismore 62

Ballina 62

Byron 122

Tenterfield 1

Tweed 291

(Tenterfield is in a different Local Health District, but postcodes put cases in Northern NSW Local Health District).

There are 62 covid patients in hospital in Northern NSW, with six of these in ICU.

One person aged in their 50s from the Tweed Heads has died of covid.

In NSW, there were 36 covid deaths.

Across the state there are 2,850 hospitalisations with 209 people in ICU.

29,830 new covid cases were reported today. Of these 13,763 were from rapid antigen tests and 16,067 from PCR testing.
