COVID: 686 new cases in Northern Rivers

NSW reported 34,994 new covid cases today.

Across the state there are 1,609 people in hospital with 131 people in ICU.

There were six deaths overnight.

One of those deaths was artist Craig Ruddy, 53, who was an Archibald prize-winner with his controversial artwork of David Gulpilil. He lived near Byron Bay and died as a result of covid complications.

686 new cases were confirmed for the Northern Rivers.

In the Northern NSW Local Health District there are 25 covid positive patients in hospital with four in ICU.

The new cases are located in the following LGAs:

Richmond Valley 21

Kyogle 9

Byron Shire 236

Lismore 81

Clarence Valley 20

Tweed Heads 224

Ballina 92

Tenterfield 3

(Tenterfield is in a different Local Health District, but postcodes put cases in NNSWLHD)
