COVID: Seven new cases in the Northern Rivers, five in Kyogle

Seven new covid cases were reported in the Northern Rivers today.
Five of these cases are in the Kyogle area and all are household contacts of existing cases.
The other two cases are in the Byron LGA. Of these, one case acquired their infection interstate, and has not been infectious in the community and the other acquired their infection overseas and investigations are underway.
There have been 184 cases in the Northern NSW Health District since June 16.
Across NSW, 262 new cases were confirmed today.
Two cases were excluded following further investigation, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 79,065.
NSW Health reported the deaths of three people – two men and a woman, today.
Two were not vaccinated and one was fully vaccinated.
In NSW there are currently 199 covid cases in hospital, with 29 people in intensive care, 14 of whom require ventilation.
In NSW 91.4% of people are fully vaccinated.
