
Numbers were down only slightly for a yarding of 1050 head at the NRLX sale on Wednesday, September 25.
The yarding of young cattle consisted mainly of weaners with a small penning of yearlings.
Some of the usual restocker buyers were absent resulting in a cheaper market.
Restocker weaners sold 20c cheaper depending on quality.
Restocker weaner steers ranged from 234c to 394c with the medium weights averaging 358c/kg.
Restocker weaner heifers sold from 205c to 324c while vealers to the trade sold from 230c to 280c/kg.
Restocker yearling steers topped at 356c and feeder steers sold to 388c/kg.
The yarding of export cattle consisted mainly of cows along with a few pens of grown steers and heifers.
Grown steers were down by 10c to 15c with heavy weights selling to a top of 312c and grown heifers reached a top price of 311 c/kg.
The cow market was 5c to 10c cheaper.
Medium weight 2 score cows sold from 220c to 257c while 3 score medium weights averaged 264c and heavy 4 score cows ranged from 270c to 295c, a single sale to 305c/kg.
