Tomki, Caniaba and Wyrallah Rural Fire Service crews rushed to a grassfire at Tomki on Thursday, April 13 at 2pm.

When they arrived, 4ha of land was alight.

A baler working in the paddock was the cause of the fire.

The fire spread quickly with the gusty winds.

A Tomki fire crew member said it was great to see local farmers working together with spray units on their utes and 4WDs. They had extinguished much of the fire before the RFS units arrived.

The fire was extinguished. The baler survived and was back in action.
