The Guess the Weight pumpkin arrived at Harley & Co Garden Centre in Kyogle yesterday, Monday, January 12.
Garden Centre staff member Kim Gibson said the first guesses will be happening this morning.
Regular pumpkin comp entrant Dale Oliver from Knockrow has donated a fine specimen for the Guess the Weight competition.
One of the organisers of weighing the pumpkins, John Leadbeatter said Dale had to stop in Lismore on his way over to Kyogle with the pumpkin.
“He got a few ganders at Norco,” John said.
The pumpkin is a beauty but what does it weigh?
It costs $5 for three guesses and the winner gets $500. The rest of the money goes towards putting on the Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon Festival this Saturday, January 17.
The four closest guesses after the winner receive a voucher from either Saw Spot, Gibbos, Nutrien or Swifty Seafoods.
Harley & Co Garden Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8am—4pm, Saturday, 9am—1pm and on Sundays 9am—1pm.
