Driver dies in truck rollover, man trying to help is injured by passing vehicle

A man has died in a crash on Kyogle Rd this morning, Monday, March 6.

At 10.20am emergency services were called to Kyogle Rd near Kyogle.

Crews found that a truck had left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.

The driver of the truck died at the scene. The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be in his 20s.

A man who stopped to help the driver of the truck was injured in a collision with a second vehicle a short time later.

The 45 year old man was treated by paramedics before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment of a suspected broken arm.

The 22 year old male driver of the other vehicle is helping police with inquiries.

Kyogle Rd remains closed in both directions.
