Drivers who notice a price mismatch between the price on FuelCheck to what’s at the bowser can report that service station.
NSW Fair Trading Bowser Busters was set up to ensure fairer fuel prices for drivers.
Since March 18, NSW Fair Trading has carried out more than 2300 field inspections and re-inspections covering about 90% of the state, and has issued more than 140 PINs.
This includes 90 PINs issued by inspectors in the field for matters relating to price mismatches, failures to comply with information requirements and service stations found not registered with FuelCheck.
Bowser Busters has supported inspectors to issue a further 57 PINs since March 30, including 56 for price mismatching and one other station not registered with FuelCheck.
For retailers who fail to meet their obligations, there are on-the-spot fines of $1100 and court penalties of up to $110,000 applying depending on the offence.
FuelCheck remains central to the program, with 350,000 motorists using the platform each day to check prices, track availability and ensure the price they see is the price they pay.

Prices varied across the region today. In the IndyNR.com readership patch, the cheapest U91 fuel was in Casino and the most expensive was at Urbenville.
