Woodburn Riverside Festival with laser light show

There will be an official opening ceremony at 9.45am, with performances by local school children.  The Council Challenge Race between Richmond Valley Council and Lismore City Council will be at 10.30am.

The raft race and biathlon, with prizes sponsored by Sunshine Sugar, will follow.  The format of the biathlon has been altered this year – the first leg will be to paddle a kayak across the river, then run back across the bridge.

During the afternoon there will be tug-of-war competitions, a Taiko drumming performance and workshops, face painting, craft activities for children, amusement rides, as well as an opportunity to have a go at paddling in a dragonboat.

There will be markets around Woodburn Memorial Hall, and inside the Hall an exhibition of artworks by local school-children, as well as a display inspired by the timber-getting history of the Woodburn area.

There will be a barbecue, food trucks, and a live band in the evening.  The festivities will culminate in a brilliant laser light show at 6.30pm
