A fire, believed to have started from a campfire, has been burning since July 22 at Granite Lane near Tabulam and has burned 41hectares.
An RFS spokesman said the fire was at patrol status and no properties were under threat from the fire.
An attempt was made today, Thursday, July 25 to backburn but it was unsuccessful.
Smoke from the Granite Lane fire is visible from Tabulam and the Bruxner Highway.
On Monday, July 22 when the fire was reported, Mallanganee Fire Brigade was called out along with Frazers Cutting 7 and Drake 7 units.
The fire was burning in inaccessible country and the cooling night air was slowing it up. With no immediate threat to any property the decision was made to have the property owner monitor the fire and call 000 again if and when required, Mallanganee RFS said.
The crews returned home.
The location and date of the fire is a repeat of last year when fire crews attended on the same day to a fire at Granite Lane.
