Mallanganee RFS was called to a grass fire at Captains Creek Rd, Tabulam last night, Monday, August 22.
On arrival they found the fire was a controlled hazard reduction.
The property owner had plenty of resources on hand to deal with the burn.
The RFS reminds people to check no one is attendance at a fire before calling triple zero.
“If you need to burn off now, remember the August winds and don’t let your fire get away from you,” Mallanganee RFS crew said.
Half of the RFS callouts were to escaped burns.
“Remember the ground is still damp and maybe we will be unable to get our trucks into some places.”
Fire permits are required from September 1.
