The wind is due to get strong and the seas will be quite rough on Sunday so if you’re going fishing, go on Saturday, Brett Hyde from Ballina Bait and Tackle shop said.
The rough seas are expected to last until Wednesday.
The good run-up tide on Saturday morning is the best time to chase whiting and catch some mud crabs.
Go into North Creek for whiting too.
There have been better numbers of flathead from the mouth of the river to the ferry.
Bright coloured soft plastics and pilchards have been working well as baits.
The run-out tides after lunch have seen mangrove jacks waiting to be caught.
There are good numbers of bass in the river from Coraki to Wyrallah.
A few surface lures have been working well.
