There is a full moon on Tuesday night so there will be bigger tides on the weekend in the mornings.

This should push clearer water Into the lower reaches of the river, Brett Hyde from Ballina Bait & Tackle said.

Early morning tides are good for those who want to chase whiting and crabs.

There are good numbers of bream on the rock walls all the way to Pimlico Island.

Better numbers of flatties can be caught either side of Burns Point ferry. Use prawns and pilchards for baits.

Not looking great for offshore fishing, there will be a reasonable amount of wind and possibly scattered showers on Sunday.

Boaties should play it by ear. There could be a small window of opportunity in the early morning to go out.

There’s nice bream around Patches Beach. Better quality flathead around Angels and Skennars beaches.

There’s an inter club bass fishing comp this weekend and the boat ramp at Coraki will be busy.
