Flying trampoline brings powerlines down and traps truck driver

Casino Rescue Squad and other emergency services rushed to a truck crash at Queensland Rd, Casino at 6.07pm today, Wednesday, January 25.

It had been reported the truck had struck a power pole and the driver was trapped.

On arrival the squad found a different story.

A wayward trampoline had been blown into powerlines by strong winds and this caused the lines to drop.

The truck ran into the powerlines and they got wrapped around the body.

With the potentially live powerlines wrapped around the vehicle, the driver couldn’t get out of the cabin.

The powerlines were considered live until Essential Energy crews confirmed they weren’t and that it was safe for the driver to get out.

The driver was uninjured.

Police and Fire and Rescue were also at the scene.
