Roz Knights was a long way from Kyogle when she received her OAM at NSW Government House on Thursday, September 11.
The Order of Australia medal was presented to Roz for her service to the Kyogle community.
This is what was said when she was introduced:
“Roz Knights has been the manager of Kyogle Lions Community Food Pantry since 2014. She manages a staff of 40. The pantry supports more than 800 families a month.
In 2002, she received the Honesty, Respect and Trust Award from Lions Australia. She is joint team leader of the Kyogle Red Cross Disaster Committee and Community Resilience Team. In 2017, Roz was Kyogle Citizen of the Year.”
Roz was presented with her medal by NSW Governor Margaret Beazley.
Roz said she was “extremely humbled” to receive her OAM from the NSW Governor.
Roz thanked the many Kyogle LGA volunteers who make an important contribution to the lives of others.
