Emergency services were called to Hotham Street, Casino, after reports that a car had been hit by a train at 1.40am, today, Saturday, January 25.
Police arrived to find a green Ford Falcon had been left in the rail corridor and was hit by a freight train.
There were no reported injuries and the train was not damaged.
The car was unoccupied at the time.
The Ford Falcon was removed by police and towed away for forensic examination.
Police are investigating the incident.
