Three community projects in Richmond Valley are being funded by the NSW Government’s Towns and Villages Resilient Business Activation Program.

Richmond Valley Council gets $164,500 in funding for two community infrastructure projects – one in Coraki and one in Broadwater. The council will also be contributing funds to the projects. The two projects are listed below. The third project has its own funding.
The Coraki Safety Initiative
This project includes the installation of eight security cameras and one automated number plate recognition camera to increase public safety in the community. The project is designed to boost confidence in the town centre, increase foot traffic, and stimulate local business activity.
The Broadwater Pedestrian Connection
This project is to construct 120 metres of footpath to link Broadwater’s existing path with the service station, post office and convenience store. This will provide safer access for pedestrians.
Broadwater Sunrise Caravan Park
Funding of $500,000 will go towards repairing the park after it was significantly damaged in the 2022 floods.
