For six years, Lily the horse roamed the paddock at the Clydesdale Motel and Steakhouse in Casino.
She was friendly and gentle, and guests to the hotel enjoyed petting her.
The locals too knew Lily, her presence was part of the landscape of Casino.
Sadly, the George family posted on Facebook about the death of Lily yesterday, Tuesday, September 26.
“It is with great sadness that we let you all know that our Dear Lily has passed away. She died peacefully last night in her sleep.
“Lily brought joy, healing and laughter to all those who visited.
“Lily was a gentle giant who loved nothing more than a carrot and a brush and had many wonderful friends who would visit her regularly.”
Marg and Stuart invited people to post photos of Lily.
The response showed how much Lily was loved and will clearly be missed.
