Getting to know Debbie McGillan

Richmond Valley Council, Debbie McGillan, Coraki, Independent

Tell us about where you live and your family.

I live on a farm just outside Coraki township coming up four years now.  My husband and I have exciting plans to renovate our tired 118 year old farm house in the near future.
It has been 13 years since Coraki has been represented, it’s time we have a Big Voice for our small community.
Since moving to Coraki,  I have become active in several organisations in our village by becoming part of the management committee for the Country Women’s Association and preschool,  the publicity officer for the United Hospital Auxiliary, a committee member for the Uniting Church  and President of the Coraki Business Chamber.
Debra has not been a councillor before.
What do you bring to the role of councillor this election?
As I move around the community,  I engage in many conversations.
People express their needs and concerns.

Dare to dream – what is your vision for your region?
My vision is once we have a voice, Coraki will prosper.
