Tell us about where you live and your family.
I’m a third-generation farmer working a beef property on Afterlee Rd.

 

If you’ve been a councillor – what are you most proud of in your previous term?
I’ve been on council for nine years and have been deputy mayor for seven years.
I’m proud of the council achieving funding for bridges and road infrastructure which has made it easier to get about.
Also, the upgrades of the KMI Hall and library.
What do you bring to the role of councillor this election?
I have a strong working relationship with the pollies.
I listen to community needs.
I support a strong end of year financial report that gives us a strong focus.
What brings you joy in life?
Our community resilience after fire, flood and covid.
I’m satisfied about the Health and Wellbeing Centre going ahead in Kyogle.
I have a personal interest in the Toonumbar Waters Retreat. We have $660,000 in funding to do it up and will call for tenders.
What difficulties does your community face?
Working to balance environment, lifestyle and opportunities and our adaptation of climate.
What is your job? What do you like/dislike about it?
I am a councillor and beef farmer.
Dare to dream – what is your vision for your region?
I want to see a strong art and culture network including indigenous culture that grows the town and complements the villages and helps to grow tourism
