Richmond Valley Council, Sam Cornish, Casino, Independent
Tell us about where you live and your family
Born, raised and living in the Richmond Valley, I attended primary and secondary school in Casino.
If you’ve been a councillor – what are you most proud of in your previous term?
Having served the Richmond Valley for the past five years as an elected member, with the council helped secure $100 million worth of State and Federal funding to better improve infrastructure and liveability within the Richmond Valley including disaster recovery funding in the wake of droughts, bushfires, flooding and most recently the covid pandemic.
It was pleasing to deliver various signature projects and if elected, I would continue to follow through with the delivery of the planned capital improvement across the Richmond Valley area.
What do you bring to the role of councillor this election?
I have worked in the local government area for the past 15 years.
Community involvement and a commitment to listen to residents’ voice are just two of the core values that are foundation to Sam’s future representation as councillor.
