More than half a million has been allocated to 68 projects in the Kyogle LGA.
The grant money – $65,000 from Kyogle Council’s Community Resilience program and $500,000 from Local Government Recovery Grants went to projects recommended by council staff.
At the Kyogle Council meeting on Monday, December 12, the successful projects were compiled into a list. There was also a list of the unsuccessful applicants.

Some of larger grant applications knocked back were: portable water tanks for fire fighting at Mallanganee ($33,000), purchase of four new electric golf carts at Kyogle Golf Club ($50,000) and an upgrade of the kitchen at the Urbenville Bowling Club ($49,500).
The council’s director of planning and environmental services Chris White said some grants applications did not have enough supporting evidence. Others came under a different grant and council was helping some of those who were unsuccessful in this round to apply elsewhere.
