There was a flurry of activity at Mallanganee Memorial Hall as village residents prepared for an arts and craft market on Saturday, December 3.

This will be no ordinary market.

Everything is handmade by local artists and with 22 stalls there is plenty of choice.

Mark Beauman will be selling his engraved wooden boards and boxes.

Organiser Judithe Lovick-andrews said it was the first time Mallanganee was hosting a market before Christmas.

The $2000 funding from Kyogle Council has helped make the market extra special.

There will be live music and a free high tea. Yes, free cake and tea. Tabulam CWA are helping out with the sweet dishes.

Ceramic artist Mic Eales will be there with his pottery wheel. There will also be felt-making using alpaca wool.

Artist Kathy Pollit will be painting on her easel while people browse the stalls.

Judithe hopes the market will become an annual event.

The market is on 1-4pm.

Whatever the weather on Saturday, take a scenic drive to Mallanganee – only half an hour from Casino and 50 minutes from Kyogle.
