Numbers were down by 400 at the NRLX today, Wednesday, February 5 compared to last week’s cattle sales with a yarding of 1300 head today.
The restocker market was varied with well bred weaner steers meeting a strong market, however the plainer steers failed to attract keener interest and sold 20c cheaper and more in places.
Prices ranged from 288c to 465c with the medium weight steers averaging 368c/kg. However, restocker weaner heifers held firm ranging from 242c to 372c/kg.
Yearling steers to background sold from 270c to 340c/kg.
The yarding of export cattle consisted mainly of cows.
There were a few pens of heavy grown steers that met a strong market to be slightly dearer ranging from 310c to 340c.
Heifers reached a top price of 313c/kg.
The cow market varied with plainer cows selling 10c cheaper while heavy cows were 2c to 10c/kg easier.
The 2 score medium weight cows sold from 210c to 220c and 3 score medium weights averaged 249c and 4 score cows ranged from 255c to 281c/kg.
