Taylah Churchill is getting her new bridal shop ready to open in time for Beef Week.
She knows there will be a lot of people in town and she’d like her Barker St shop front to look good.
Taylah, 28, used to have a bridal shop on Wyrallah Rd in Lismore before covid. Then she moved the business to her home on Elliot Rd.
During the floods she had to be rescued along with her children.
“I lost everything,” she said.
She and her husband have moved to a relation’s home in Spring Grove.
Emily Bridal gets a fresh start in Casino. Emily is Taylah’s middle name.
The shop will feature romantic boho dresses as well as groom, bridesmaid, page boy, page girl, mother of the bride and formal outfits.
Most importantly she wants brides to feel special when they come to Emily Bridal to choose a dress.
This stems from her own experience when choosing a dress.
“I had a terrible experience finding our wedding dress. I left the shop in tears.” .
The woman serving me in the shop wasn’t accommodating because I’m not a size 2, Taylah said.
“And I was treated like I didn’t have the money,” Taylah said.
She had $2500 for a dress and eventually found a shop in Coffs Harbour that gave her the service she wanted before her wedding at Jiggi.
“You’re supposed to feel beautiful whether you’re a size 0 or size 28.”
