Not even an hour into the winter period, Casino Rural Fire Brigade and the Fire and Rescue NSW Station 253 Casino crews were called to a house structure on fire at Mongogarie, today Wednesday, June 1.
Unfortunately, the structure was burned but the owner got out safely.
Fire crews said it was a sad reminder of the extra dangers in the winter period and a reminder to visit the Fire and Rescue website to complete the winter safety check list.
Every winter, there are more than 1100 home fires, from which around 100 fire-related injuries occur.
