The site of the old Coraki Hospital is being turned into a temporary housing centre with 55 pods.

Work is well underway at the site to provide housing for those impacted by the floods.

A Resilience NSW spokesperson said the Coraki site will house about 240 residents and is expected to be used for the next two years.

The temporary housing units will become available in a staged rollout as the construction work continues.

Construction is also underway at the temporary housing site at Evans Head and when completed there will be 25 units for about  50 people.

To register for a pod, people can call Service NSW on 13 77 88 who will put in a pod expression of interest for them.
