It’s not a crock – the flood really swept a teaset into this canefield

Susanna Freymark

Belinda Martin and her family were slashing and burning their canefields as part of getting ready for harvest.

As they did, they checked the West Coraki canefields for any items before they began the burn.

Among the tallness of the cane they found  a collection of crockery and china ornaments washed from an unknown source.

“Our 15 year old son found the items,” Belinda said.

Belinda took a photo of the items and posted it on her Facebook page.

“The owner has been found.

“We’re not sure how much more we will we find. We’ve had people’s belongings coming from Coraki and Codrington during the flood.”

During the floods, their Lagoon Rd farm was under four metres of water.

Water was lapping at the door of the house.

Here’s a video Belinda took during the floods.
