IndyNR.com first met Glen Antonovich at a pub in Casino in 2023.
He had travelled from Victoria to to sit through the court case about his son Jarrad who died at a Kyogle retreat after taking Kambo.
Jarrad Antonovich died in 2021 0n Sunday, October 17. He was 46 years old.
Emergency services attended a property on Gonpa Road, Collins Creek after reports a man had collapsed.
Paramedics assisted Jarrad at the scene but he could not be revived.
Inquiries into his death revealed that a ceremonial ritual had been held at the property involving natural prohibited substances, known as Kambo and Ayahuasca.
On Tuesday, March 3, a 52 year old man — Soulore Solaris — was arrested in Coorabell and was taken to Byron Bay Police Station where he was charged with manslaughter.
Police will allege in court that the man supplied Jarrad with Ayahuasca while hosting a retreat at the property and delayed seeking medical treatment when the man’s health deteriorated.
The 52 year old man was granted conditional bail and he will face Lismore Local Court on Monday, March 30.
Correction: In the orignal story we had Jarrad’s first name wrong and have since corrected it
