Kayaker in trouble in river rapids is rescued

A kayaker was reported as missing on the Clarence River last night, Wednesday, May 15.

Emergency services including Casino VRA Rescue, police and SES assisted with the search at Paddy’s Flat Road, Tabulam at 7.45pm.

A man had gone kayaking and had got into trouble with rapids along a section of the  Clarence River.

He was found at Hootens Road by the rescue squad.

The man was uninjured and did not need medical assistance.

He was collected by a family member and taken home to warm up.

Crews remind people to check the conditions of local waterways, particularly after rain before embarking on a new adventure.
