Know how your beef is processed, take a tour of the meatworks

Have you always wanted to have a nosy at how the Casino Food Co-op operates? Now is your chance.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 26. visitors are welcome to take a tour of the meatwork facilities in Casino as part of Beef Week.

Visitors will see the cold stores, processing room, boning room, hide factory and the new retail ready factory where meat is packed for supermarkets.

Know more about how the meat you eat is processed.

The site will not be operational to allow for visitors.

Tours will be in small groups and start at 9am and run until 11.30am.

Numbers are limited. Bookings can be made on the Casino Beef Week website or by phoning the Beef Week office on 6662 8181.

All visitors are to assemble near the main entrance (visitors car park)

Results of the Beef Week carcase competition will be held at 9am in the co-op canteen.
