The rescue helicopter was flying over Woodburn Public School yesterday, Thursday, August 28.
The special visit from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter is part of the school landing program which gives students the chance to learn more about the service.
Westpac’s regional general manager Northern NSW Despina Toparis-Nelson said the landings are a wonderful way to help educate students about how the service operates and supports our community throughout the Northern Rivers.
The students got to hear directly from the pilot and the aircrew officer.
Principal Michael Lord said they were fortunate to be involved in the schools program.
“Many of us in the local community have someone close who has experienced a lifesaving moment thanks to the rescue helicopter.”
