Make a splash at free family fun day at new look swimming pool

It’s almost time to jump into the water at the Casino Memorial Pool.

The pool opens on Saturday, September 23 and Richmond Valley Council have announced that as a free family fun day at the newly upgraded Casino Memorial Pool on from 9am.

After that, Richmond Valley Aquatics who run the pool have said the entry fees will be as follows:

$5.50: adult
$5: child
$5: senior
$20: family of four
$2: spectator

The pool was built in 1952 and refurbished in 1983.

In 2019 , council secured a $3.2million grant from the Australian Government to begin work on stage 1 of the upgrade.

A further $3.48million from council got construction underway.

The estimated total cost of the project is $14million.

Stage 2 of the upgrade will include the entrance to the pool. The metal turn gates will be removed. The poinciana tree at the front will also be removed to enhance the memorial entrance.
